Quiet Saturday, gaming Sunday
Jul. 22nd, 2007 09:48 pmSaturday was a generally quiet day. I did some laundry, but mostly spent the time after gabriel_le had left around the house doing not much of anything.
Sunday, went over to ironphoenix's place for gaming. We started with Tsuro, then a couple of games of a trick-taking game with flexible rules, then settled in to a 4-player game of Power Grid on the France (expansion) map. It was an interesting game, where I pooched my ending to come 2nd on the tie break by 9 electros (both of us at 7 cities -- I'd bought Garbage for the next turn, to the tune of 14 electros, enough for the game. I didn't need to do that. If I'd thought a bit more, I wouldn't have done so.)
I then (5pm) wandered over to con_girl's to see if the explosions party was still running. It had just finished washing up, and was wandering off to Host India for dinner, which I happily joined. After dinner, some of us returned to con_girl's where a bit more socialization occurred and then a couple of games. First was Paris, Paris then Cronberg. In Cronberg, we came up with the amazing negative scoring round, where I won by being at "only" -18, compare to -20 and -50 for the other two. (The scoring track runs from about -17 to +50. We were all amused at just how negative we managed to score.)

Date: 2007-07-23 08:07 pm (UTC)You still came in ahead of me in Power Grid... I gambled, and didn't quite win. I'm not sure whether it would have gone differently if D.B. had built more cities; I suspect that he wouldn't have been able to stop both of you, though.
re. Cronberg: the houseplants win again!
