Smash Toe!
May. 19th, 2024 02:10 pmI smashed a toe yesterday.
Not while leading the soaking-wet 5.9 trad pitch combined of cracks and slabs. Not even when the best hold on the pitch broke under my foot when I was about 1.5 meters above my last gear.
Not on a later pitch where I took two lead falls on gear.
Not on the muddy walk-off, where I slipped and fell a couple times.
No, when I was walking through a door at the cottage while I was there for dinner, and whammed my toe into something solid.
Moral: climbing isn't dangerous; walking around inside is.
