Finally climbing!
Sep. 1st, 2019 08:00 pmWe finally got an afternoon of climbing in! We went to the local crag (Cougar Canyon), and got in 4 pitches -- though they were long pitches (all over 30m). I lead (on-sight) all 4, slight damp in places. The first was graded 5.8 (probably no harder than 5.7), then three 5.10a routes (one 5.9 crux, a few 5.9 sections, and finally, a bunch of 5.10a including an opening sequence that was probably 10b due to the soaking wet half of it.) I was happy to get the final one clean as it also involved some route-reading interesting bits... I did a tricky traverse to some good-looking holds at one point, only to find them with white chalk Xs on them, so had to reverse the traverse, then pull the hard bit I was trying to avoid.
