Another good weekend
Sep. 21st, 2014 11:17 pmIt had climbing and gaming -- is anyone surprised?
Friday evening got to spend a bit of quiet time with figure__it__out while she studied French.
Saturday I headed out climbing with K8, Chantalle, Noah, and Ariella. We went to the Western Cwm as the weather forecast was a bit iffy. It did, in fact, rain on us as we drove out there, stopping about as we unloaded and hiked in. We started with some damp rock, but the rock dried as the day went on, and we did get a couple short periods when the sun even peeked out. At the end of the day, K8 wanted one more climb... a trad lead on North Wall, and of course it started to rain as she headed up, getting heavier as she climbed. I got to follow the climb in the nearly pouring rain -- luckily not a hard climb, with solid hand holds and feet that, even when wet, are pretty solid. This did, though, make the hike out more slippery, and the gear heavier. It has now, mostly, dried out.
Today, Sunday, was board game due to the 90% POP forecast. I had 4 players for Village in the afternoon (foms, ironphoenix, and ilanikhan), which was won by ironphoenix, with other three of us a short distance back and 1 point apart. After dinner, ilanikhan headed home and we decided on Age of Steam, and chose the Vermont map expansion. This provides a steeper start, but at least for three players, a fairly generous finish. I won by a solid margin, with ironphoenix and foms a point apart.
It was good to see a few of my gamer people this weekend, as well as my climber friends.
