Also known as headed home. Way too early, but that is what is. I'm the first person in the lounge here in Basel, kind of odd having the whole lounge to myself. They were just setting up food as I was walking in. Not sure I'm ready for food, yet, though as it is very early. It looks like I have better seats for the flight home than outbound, at least.

It has been a good trip, though. Despite bad weather forecasts, we only lost two full days to weather (and had one bad climbing day). The week:

Saturday: arrived, multi-pitch climbing in the Jura.
Sunday: hike up to Hintisberg in the Alps, but is cold damp day -- climb a couple pitches, but too cold to continue.
Monday: decent weather, hike up to Chesselenfluh, climb a good 5-pitch climb.
Tuesday: rain day/rest day.
Wednesday: drive to Tocino area (Italian Swiss area in the south), do a 400m 11-pitch climb. Exciting walk-off.
Thursday: Hintisberg again. Did a good 4-pitch climb, but I was too tired to climb more. Flo did a couple single-pitch climbs, too.
Friday: more rain. Was a tourist in Basel. Climbed up the inside of a church spire.
Saturday: climbed at a crag in the Black Forest in Germany -- single-pitch sport. I lead most routes I climbed, including a couple lead falls on one.

I'm really looking forward to sleeping in my own bed this evening.

Flights went ok, though the Atlantic crossing was bumpy.

Bardarbunga erupted, but gently so as not to interfere with my holidays.

Welcomed by perogies @ House of Targ with friends, followed by stepping out into a light rain, the sun shining, a full double rainbow, and thunder rumbling in the background.
