Less suitcase than I thought

I have a large and a small suitcase packed, along with my carry-on backpack. I had expected to need large & medium -- but turns out not. And only two items, not three. I think the small, though, may be heavier than the large. Metal tends to be dense.

I haven't seen any new reports of Bardarbunga going up, just the same "poised to erupt", so I'm guessing it hasn't blown yet. That means I should make it to Switzerland, at least, before it goes.

Awful seat for the YUL->FRA link (on Lufthansa), and Air Canada's check-in couldn't change it, despite it looking like lots of spare seats. Hope I can get something better in Montreal with a Lufthansa agent.
