I have now arrived, after one of the more expensive taxi rides of my life, at the Ramada hotel Dongtan, a bit south of Seoul, South Korea.

I think this is going to be an interesting experience. For example, the toilet plugs in and has lots of buttons, and I have no idea what any of them do.

And, I'm 11 hours off Ottawa. -11 hours if I figure it right. Or, maybe, +13. Yeah, +13.

It has been a long day of travel, and I'm off to bed.

When I arrived yesterday it was overcast and hazy, but there was a yellow/brown tinge to the haze everywhere. And I noticed there was a park with some walking trails across the street outside my hotel, I thought I'd go walking there.

But, today is wet. It is foggy, and rainy, and everything is wet outside -- this isn't encouraging me to head outside. Though, if it dries out a bit later, I might make it outside anyway.

Until then, looks like a day online in my room.

Hotel buffet breakfast included an interesting mix of western and not -- bacon, scrambled eggs, and similar. As well as corn soup, bulgogi pork, and kimchi.

The hotel has 3 food places... a coffee shop with no meals, a Japanese restaurant (which had a children's birthday party this evening) and a Japanese pub, which had a bilingual, I think, menu. Bilingual in Korean and Japanese. I ended up eating salmon sushi because one of the serving people could find that on the menu for me. Also seaweed salad, because that arrived at the table, too.

There is, though, the odd scattering of English all over the place... the coffee shop has a big English poster/ad about coffee, for example.
