EPC day 3

Talked to my sweetie this evening, which was really nice.

Third day of climbing, 6 pitches today (instead of 5) and I wasn't completely wiped at the end... Estrellita looking good.

Also, I'm really enjoying the evening hanging out with the other climbers. I didn't do that so much last time, but really enjoying it this time. There's a group of 4 down from Vancouver that are nice, a couple from New York we'll be climbing with tomorrow, and a bunch of other cool people.

I've also met the writer of the main guide book (Dane Bass), as well as the author of the smaller guide books (Ed Wright, aka Magic Ed, aka Potrero Ed).

6 pitches is pretty good. Seems like things are going well. We had thought about a rest day tomorrow, but I think we're going to climb instead. :) We talked to Mara & Karen from New York -- and we're going to be cragging in the Virgin Canyon with them.

EPC day 4

Celine and I ended up climbing with a couple of women down here from New York -- Mara and Karen. Mara had ended up leading everything for that pair, and was tired of leading, so I promised to lead some stuff so she didn't have to lead everything. Both Celine and Karen ended up being more tired/hurting than they expected, so in fact Mara and I climbed mostly. We setup a couple cragging routes where I lead, then traversed so two routes were available. Then we did the first 2 pitches of a 3-pitch climb. I ended up leading 3 of the 6 pitches I climbed, Mara ended up leading 1 of 6 (which was good break for her). Also, I've now got a contact in the Gunks area, so maybe someone to stay with or climb with down there. :)
