Another good day of climbing
Aug. 30th, 2009 07:41 pmAll but one of my climbers dropped out of today's climbing, but one was enough to go out for a good day at Calabogie. I met Flo (male, mid-20s) at Parkdale & The Ottawa River Parkway, and we drove out there. He climbs quite a bit stronger than I do, but despite having a rack has never led a trad route. So, I got to show him around a climbing area I like, and he got to do his first trad lead, and we started working on a really tough route -- I think he'll get it eventually, and I may be able to skip parts of it, and climb the rest. I also led a really run-out 5.3 route, but sometimes if you on-sight things, that sort of stuff happens.
And, we did get a bit of rain -- we had finished our last climb, and were starting to pack up, when it started to sprinkle a bit. Perfect timing.
