Climbing strong
Jul. 14th, 2009 11:57 pmFinally got clean another tough route I've been working on, probably in the 5.10b/c range (it is just labelled "5.10" at the gym, but I'm climbing a variant without a natural feature that makes it harder, with feature probably 5.10a). Went back to anther tough 5.10 route that I'd flailed on a couple months ago, and climbed it with little problem (one fall, but at a place where there was a hold around a corner that I didn't see). Even the "ouchies" from Saturday were good in a way... I stuck that problem 4 places where I'd normally have bailed off.
I feel like I'm climbing as strong, or maybe a bit stronger than I ever have -- which is great shape to be in when I'm heading off for 2.5 weeks of climbing. I'd been worried a bit a couple months ago, since I felt like I was really in a slump.
