That was a long day!
Jun. 8th, 2008 09:58 amWith the 2.5 hour delay in Chicago (waiting for a plane from Lexington, where apparently there'd been thunderstorms), I ended up getting to my hotel around 1:30am, about 25 hours after I got up in Dublin. Unfortunately, I didn't sleep very well -- this was late enough that my body was back into "waking up" mode, rather than sleep mode. I think if I had gotten in on time, I'd have switched timezones quite smoothly. We'll have to see how tonight goes, I may be ok with a moderately early night tonight.
Though, I will saying being back awake again did make it easier to drive to the hotel without falling asleep -- if I'd been in the shape I was while waiting for my last flight in Chicago (nodding off in the airport seat, not able to keep my eyes open), it might have been a dangerous drive.
And, they tried to give me a Mazda 5 (micro-van) again, but I asked for something different. Contact a Pontiac G6, boring but seems acceptable.
This hotel is, also, in a new area. The street doesn't exist according to my GPS, though a close-by one with a similar name (avenue instead of circle) did exist, and seemed to be in the right area, and did get me to the hotel. Yay. The customer's street, similarly, must be fairly new as my GPS doesn't know any street numbers on it. I think I will find them today, when I've got lots of time, rather than tomorrow when I need to get there.
