Holiday wrapup
Dec. 27th, 2007 12:50 pmOr is it holiday unwrap?
Sunday, the 23rd, was Christmas dinner with gabriel_le and her mom. Some presents were exchanged, and we had non-turkey dinner, and had a pleasant time.
On the 24th, we went out to some place past Carleton Place to gabriel_le's father and step-mom's place, where we had Christmas dinner (including turkey) with them, her step-mom's 3 kids and those kids' partners (and a baby). It was a fun time, they seem like a good crowd, though I'm not sure we have a lot in common. Oh, and more presents were exchanged.
We didn't get out of there until after 10pm, and I dropped gabriel_le off at pezchica & scubajim's place on the way back in to town. It felt too late to make it to cortejo's get-together, and I was tired, so I went home and finished wrapping some presents.
Christmas morning, around 10am, I went off to my parents' house. My sister Jenny and her partner Aaron (the Montreal pair, not the spawning pair from B.C.) were there as well as my parents. We had some breakfast, then more presents happened. I got three games (Mr. Jack, Ingenious, and Struggle of Empires -- I've played the first two twice each already), a winter coat and gloves, and other people in my family also got games -- Bananagrams and Taboo. We played a few games of Bananagrams, then I went to pick up gabriel_le from J&As, and after I brought her back we played some more games of Bananagrams. (It is a fun little simultaneous play crossword game. I should get a copy.) Then Christmas dinner (more turkey), and we played a few games of Taboo in the evening. (Taboo is ok, but not a game I need to own.)
Yesterday was a big gaming party. Thanks for the idea beable. If I'm in town next year, I may think of doing that again. Things got in gear around 1:30pm, and wrapped up around 10:30pm.
Today I should get out and do some climbing, though both potential climbing partners have cancelled out. :( And, I need to go by my parents' place and see if the modem from their old computer will work in the new one I gave them. And do further setup.
Tomorrow, is my birthday party. I turn 40! Daytime is shopping for this, and house prep, then party though the evening.
