It seems that Denver was having some weather issues, and that slowed us down. Snow, stuff like that. Got out of Denver about 1.5 hours late, and similarly into San Jose 1.5 hours late. Other than the delay, flights went smoothly. Unfortunately, I left my CDs in the rental car in Huntsville. Called them when I realized after getting here, but they were closed... will call again tomorrow morning, maybe all is not lost.

I can only blame two on travel, the other one gabriel_le borrowed from the library.

Planet Granite (Sunnyvale) is a very nice climbing gym. It has extensive bouldering -- though not top-outs. (Both Ottawa gyms have bouldering with top-outs, yet I rarely find that elsewhere.) It has lots of height, lots of interesting angles, and lots of routes in the range that I can climb, but find challenging. I climbed from about 1:15 to about 5:30 today, and didn't run out of routes to climb -- there are still unclimbed routes in my challenge range. It also has work-out equipment, yoga rooms, and saunas. I'd say it's main weakness is that its ratings tend to be soft. I'd say, in fact, that its ratings for routes are about 2 grades (maybe 1.5) too easy.

After climbing and shower, I walked to dinner. The first restaurant (across the street) that I was going to go to was closed, so I just kept walking, cause I'd spotted another couple in the area -- though they were about 3 blocks away. Not so far, unless you just spent most of the afternoon climbing.

Unfortunately, I didn't get to climb real rock -- it had rained too much this week, and the rock was too wet for climbing. (The local crag is sandstone which gets too weak when wet, and holds tend to break off.)
