Tired again
Sep. 8th, 2007 07:54 pmDefinitely no climbing tomorrow -- I've climbed 6 of the last 8 days. 4 of those climbing days were on real rock, 3 of them on Spindrift Wall of the Western Cwm (meaning a 20 minute hike, really scramble/climb in to the wall) and 3 of them were at the Shrine.
I discovered today that spraying bug repellent (Deep Woods Off) onto fresh scrapes is quite stingy.
I also successfully led a 5.8 (Gatineau rating). And, wow, there were a lot of people at the Shrine today. The four of us, and 3 other pairs of climbers.
And despite threatening to rain, and even spitting a few drops, the weather stayed nice, and we had some really good climbing. Found another nice way to climb from the same anchors as bolted route 2 on Spindrift -- staying entirely to the right of the rope/anchors route. Couldn't lead it (at least not sport, and even trad the protection looks like it would be sketchy, but I don't have a good eye for that yet), but once the rope is up, it is a nice top-rope route. Maybe a level to level and a half harder.
