And home again

Ok, really I got home last night, but the time was spent with gabriel_le, and that was far more important than updating LJ. (Sorry folks, but its true.) She has now wandered off to pezchica and scubajim's place, so I'm updating.

It is good to be home. To sleep in my own bed, even if I did wake up at 6:30 this morning. At least I didn't have to get up, and could roll over and snuggle someone instead. Definitely a good thing.

And, the enclosed porch/verandah over the front porch (I wonder what that thing should be called?) is now finished, and is a very nice space. Yay.

Now... what to do with the rest of today? Maybe wander off to Coyote, wonder if I can track down anyone to climb with? Hm...

Have made plans to go climbing with my sister and brother-in-law next Sunday. That should be cool. And, hopefully, a second time out, too. Randy sounded really enthusiastic about the idea. ;)

What's with the cold?

It's late July in Ottawa. It's afternoon. I'm sitting in my non-air-conditioned house with long pants and a sweater on. The thermostat reads 18C. (That's 65F for you USAns.) WTF?

Ok, so it has made sleeping at night really nice -- I can cuddle up nicely in my comforter. No need to dream/wish for AC, no need to have the fan blowing over the bed in order to be comfortable under (the absolute minimum neccessary to sleep coverage of) a sheet.

Of course, if I'm dripping sweat and complaining about it in two weeks, you can all laugh at me. :)
