I'm home. Driving was clear and dry the whole way, everything went very smoothly and quickly. And, when I got home, I found that I owed someone (I don't know who) a favour -- my driveway had been shovelled, not fully, but the icky plowed stuff, and almost enough space to properly park one car. So, I didn't have to stop and chop my way into my driveway. Yay. I just don't know who did it.

To quote foms, "I had an adequate time this weekend".

I did get to see Molly, and several of her Windsor friends; Kyle dropped by for a couple hours on Saturday and seeing her and catching up a bit was great, and I saw a few other people I haven't seen in a while. But, a whole gang of my Toronto & KW friends that I was looking forward to seeing didn't make it out.

The con suite was it's usual lame Ad Astra situation, the dance ran a reasonable time (10pm [ish] to 3am), though mostly the music was moderate at best -- and even the songs picked from my time period (80s) weren't great choices (e.g. My Sharona). There were a few parties, and they seemed to do ok, though not run very late.

The gaming room had a very nice supply of games available (a couple people had brought in a decent collection), and I got to play several games that were on my "interest list" or highly rated on Board Game Geek, including Ra (an interesting auction game), Through the Desert (abstract strategy territory game), Alhambra (collect money to build, score kind of like an area control game, seemed to work well for 3, but not so good for 6), and Memoir '44 (2-player card-driven WW II tactical combat). On the flip side, the gaming room closed around 2am, because the person running gaming was sleeping in the room. Not-so-good.
