Climbing, but no skiing
Feb. 18th, 2007 08:40 pmHad a good day for climbing today with S&B. My arm was, mostly, not bothering me, and I climbed a 5.10a (with several falls and attempts at one point), a 5.9 that I'd not seen before (completed with one fall), two new un-rated climbs, one of which I went up nicely (probably a 5.8, might be a 5.9, we'll see) and one that I didn't, but it required a heavy strength move, and I didn't try it until fairly late in the day. Also a variety of other routes in the 5.7-5.8 range. B was climbing far better than last time I climbed with her (6 months ago?), even though she had not climbed in the meantime. But she had been doing a lot of martial arts (5 times/week or so), including one sword-based one, and the improved arm strength and, especially, grip strength served her well for climbing.
Skiing for tomorrow is cancelled due to forecast of cold. (-25 in the morning, high of about -15. That's without counting windchill, and at the base of Mont Tremblant. At peak, will be colder, and the top half of the mountain is almost always windy, even if it isn't at the base -- and tomorrow was supposed to be windy, too.) So, now, I've got tomorrow completely empty of commitments or things to do.
