Summer long weekends
Jul. 13th, 2006 04:26 pmFor the first, the July 1st long weekend, I had a party at my parents' cottage, and it was good.
For the second, the August long weekend, I'm not sure. A lot of my friends are going to Kaleidoscope Gathering for that weekend, and bits of the week preceeding, too. But, I'm not much into camping, and I'm not pagan. So, most of the day-time stuff is not really for me, and sleeping in tents is iffy. I like a comfortable bed, a SOFT bed. Also, I wouldn't mind making it Montreal to visit a couple people, and KG is, conveniently, about half way to Montreal. So, I'm thinking maybe drop in and spend an evening and night at KG, then on to Montreal. Or, maybe, the reverse. Would make it likely to be either Saturday or Sunday evening at KG. I wonder if I can find someone who would be willing to offer me crash space in their tent for the evening, or if I'll have to track down a tent of my own.
For the third, Labour day weekend, I'll be going to Shalom. pezchica is very happy with the community, alicatgrrr is a wonderful person, and gabriel_le seemed to appreciate the people and atmosphere when she was there, too. So, I'm going to give it an introductory try on the work weekend, Labour day weekend, and drive down with pezchica (and munchkin) for the weekend.
And, while not nominally a long weekend, I'll also be off to the LA Worldcon from August 22-August 28th.
Maybe I'll rest in September? :)
