The rest of a long weekend (mostly)

pezchica, evil women that she is, has gotten me hooked on Travian. It is sort of a MMOG version of Settlers on steroids, but without sheep and (some might argue thankfully) the sheep jokes that go along with them.

I did a couple hours on the bike with gabriel_le Saturday evening, almost half way to Montreal, then back again -- returning at a somewhat slower pace, due to having sighted a cop doing a pull-over on the other side while out-bound. It was a nice little trip, though we were quite thankful for the electric gear.

Sunday, I went wall-climbing with scubajim and gabriel_le, and I really enjoyed it. I think I'll head out to MEC later this week to pick up my own shoes, harness, etc. I may have my 2nd new addiction for the weekend in climbing. And, I want to echo gabriel_le in suggesting that Jim should be called "monkey-boy". I, of course, took a couple of falls -- not all of them "straight" down, but including twist and inversion on a couple. Didn't seem to bother me at the time, though.

After climbing, scubajim, and gabriel_le made dinner for us, that being the climbers and pezchica. It was a nice dinner, and felt a lot like a "family" dinner for me.

Today, (yay long weekend), I got up way too early -- gabriel_le was getting up around 6am, and I was awake, so I decided to get up with her. We had a nice breakfast, and morning together, before scubajim picked her up around 8:30am.

Chatted with my neighbour, who was out weeding, and agreed to a mutual exchange of keys and house-watch service while away.

Then, took a nap, and headed off to my parents cottage for the afternoon & dinner, by motorcycle. My dad decided he wanted my help picking up a bunch of left-over lumber from construction at a nearby cottage (it had been offered to him, apparently), so I got to spend an hour or two shifting lumber around. Boy, could I feel that in the fore-arms, after the climbing yesterday! Then a good dinner, and I got to ride home again... ooo fore-arms again. I also seem to a bit of ache in one side of my back, probably from a twist in one of the falls I took.
