A while ago, some of you volunteered to help with cottage storm cleanup.
I talked with my parents, and since the last storm, the large trees have been moved and now's the time when they could use a hand with brush clearing. We looked at mutual schedules for free weekends and that fun stuff, and the first one that both they and I were free was October 22-23. So that is, tentatively, the date for going up there and cleaning things up.
If you can help, and would be willing to help, please let me know. The basic plan would be to head up Saturday morning, work through daylight hours of Saturday and probably a good chunk of Sunday, depending on how long it would take, and then head back to town Sunday evening.
There will be hauling of "slash", the trimmings from the trees that the loggers took away, probably some more trimming on downed trees, possibly cutting up some of the smaller downed trees, etc. Rip-resistant clothing, and work gloves are probably a good idea, as well as solid shoes/boots.
Let me know if you think you can help, thanks.
