Home from Baitcon...
Aug. 1st, 2005 12:10 pmThe trip went fine, had a decent, though not excellent time, met some interesting people. The camping went ok, though I suffered from lack of sleep. Did a bit of gaming, socializing and other such stuff. Am wondering if Baitcon has become too much about the ice cream, and if that is interfering in the rest of the social aspects to some extent. (Did play Transamerica, and think it should be added to my game collection. Plays well, and fairly quickly, with 4-6 people, didn't try it with 2 or 3.)
Got home from Baitcon last night to an empty house, and a DSL connection that wasn't working. Restarted the DSL modem a couple times to no luck -- and unhappy looking light patterns. Looked for any troubleshooting docs for the modem, but could find none, so called Sympatico. While talking with Sympatico support, the modem went to power light always red, to power light not on, and smell of burning electronics. At that point I turned it off. They are sending another one out. Currently on (ugh) dial-up.
Apparently my dinner arrangements for this evening with
succulentpoet have been finalized in my absence, and I'm having dinner at The Roses Cafe on Gladstone around 5:30pm.
I guess I should start on laundry. Yeeha.
