Well, I've finally made it home from my 3 week excursion to the States -- though, unfortunately, I don't get to stay for very long. It is nice, though, to sleep in my own bed for a change.

I had to shovel some snow, and clear my car of three weeks accumulation -- not too bad, actually, this seems to have been a light-snow winter so far. And, I really can't claim to regret missing the cold Ottawa has been experiencing the last few weeks.

I'm very unimpressed with Delta airlines, though. On the 4 legs of this trip, the best they did was 15 minutes late (Detroit to Atlanta), about an hour late (Atlanta to Ottawa, putting us behind a big flight from Cancun at Canada customs, instead of ahead of them), 3 hours late (Houston to Detroit, leaving me driving through traffic in Detroit at 4:30pm with snow, instead of at 1:30pm) and 3.5 hours late (Ottawa to Houston).

And, it is so nice to be back to high-speed internet, I was getting very tired of dial-up speed access. Yes, I know that probably means I'm spoiled, but I have gotten used to it. (And, when dealing with several hundred spam a day at my work account, this does make a real practical difference.)

Looking to the future... a week from today I fly to Nice, France for a week, back in Ottawa for a week, (probably) off to California (San Jose or vicinity) for a week, followed by a week at a Texas Instruments location somewhere in the US, but I don't (yet) know where. Beyond the start of March, my life gets blurry...

Yes, I'm going to France, but mostly that means that the plane flight is longer. I'm still going to be spending my days in a meeting/class room teaching, and my nights sleeping in a hotel bed, and with the time change, won't have much energy for touristing, or even finding dinner. (And, I won't have time either.)

And, I'm really frustrated with our (QSSL's) salesperson in France for complete disorganisation and lack of responsiveness about planning the content for the course I'm going to be presenting.

Now, it is time to do some laundry...
