Didn't hike... but next week!
Sep. 23rd, 2006 07:59 pmDue to the wetness outside, we decided to not hike today after all. Instead we drank tea, gamed (a couple games each of Tsuro and Trans Europa), cooked food, and fed people.
So, next Sunday, we're going to try again. We'll be heading out from my place at 11am,

Sunday this time!! We'll depart from dagibbs' and my place at 11am. Please pack day-hiking equipment, swimming stuff if you want to brave the water (note: there are no change rooms available as it is past season), snacks, water, and a camera...
...because the Wolf Trail is an absolutely gorgeous hike, and we're hoping that the colours are popping in the Gatineau Hills.
This time, we are going to make it a varied hike. All skill levels are welcome, just pick the hike that best suits your abilities:
Blue: Hike the whole 9.5kms at your pace. There is a steep incline near the beginning of the trail that is not to be underestimated, but afterwards it levels off and becomes a nice slow descent. For comments about it, refer to ansfrid's, buttongirl's, or dagibbs' post (either the 17th or 18th of September).
Green: There are 'short cuts' through the trail in order to make it easier. You can shave off a couple of kms by taking an intersecting trail (marked as the number 1). You could also walk up the "nice slow descent" and then back down again.
Black: Hike the trail twice, at a pace fast enough to be finished at around the time the rest of the hikers are, or at least before they get bored of waiting for you.
Feel free to invite friends, and if your friends have four legs and waggly tails, please pick up after them and you might need to provide for their transportation. Leashes are also strongly recommended.
*I* would also prefer that we find something active to do in case it's a mucky day, as much as gaming and drinking tea all afternoon is appealing. =)
