Life in review -- or is it fast-forward?

dagibbsApparently I don't update nearly as much when I'm at home as I do when on the road. Hooda thunkit!
I've got a new laptop from work! Yay! This one is an IBM Thinkpad T60 - moderate performance (not quite as good as my old one) at about a 1/3 the size. Awesome, it is, actually, a laptop and easily portable, unlike the monstrosity that my previous one was. Of course, the screen size is smaller, so I may end up not running at the highest resolution available, but that's ok. So, I've been spending a bunch of time transferring settings, files, hotlists, and much more to the new laptop, as well as installing bunches of software to it. I want it ready to go on my next trip, which is this coming weekend.
I'll be going to Vancouver next week, teaching at another Harman acquisition there, which has been merged in some way with QNX. I'm flying out Sunday around 1:30, and returning Friday afternoon -- direct flights both ways, which cuts down on the travel time, and likelihood of lost luggage. Also, no border crossing for this one should speed things up, too. And, I'll get to see succulentpoet again -- I've missed her since she went west.
Monday went out to SCA dancing, did some English country dances, some Italian renaissance dances, and things called (spelling aproximate, but pronounced "brawls" or something like that) bransels.
Tuesday I made it to the poly get-together at McClarens, had some food, and came home to the excitement of doing laundry. Yay laundry. Go laundry.
Tonight, dinner at parents (mmm... roast beef), then more laundry. I had been planning/thinking of climbing with Ric, but didn't get a confirmation back from him, so that didn't happen.
Tomorrow... dunno. gabriel_le is munchkin sitting, and asked if I wanted to join her in that. Dunno about that - munchkin? Maybe try to find someone to climb with? (luckytroll? Is this too short notice?)
Friday, either climbing with someone I met at the poetry slam last week (if she returns my email, she was headed out of town) or dancing with gabriel_le? Have to wait and see.
Saturday... hiking in the Gatineau? gabriel_le made noises about maybe doing this, but nothing solid.
Sunday... quick drop by ragnhildr's parental dim sum, then fly to Vancouver, then dinner with succulentpoet, assuming Air Canada doesn't screw me over.
Next week... work, and maybe make it out for some bouldering in Vancouver? I think I'll bring my climbing shoes, at least. (Though the climbing gyms there look expensive.)
