Looking forward to being home again...
Jul. 28th, 2006 04:27 pmSoon, I'm going to be home again! Two more nights in England, then I can go back to not having to concentrate quite so heavily while driving. One more night in Michigan, then I'll be sleeping in my own bed again! And, hopefully, having a chance to see my friends again, too.
I still haven't decided what I want to do for the long weekend. Drop by KG? Montreal? Stay at home and be happy to not have to leave the city? But, what if I get bored? Head off to my parents cottage for the weekend. I think my sister & niece may be around.

Date: 2006-07-28 09:02 pm (UTC)Yes, I should do that.
I liked them, not best ever, but they were good.
Another fine myth - very funny, engaging, but the story didn't seem to go anywhere. By the end I kind of felt like I was still waiting to get to the point. It was a very funny popcorn book, diverting fluff.
Misenchanted sword - not all what I expected, an interesting character story really, the ending was too perfect though, I was hoping for something conflicted, not this ideal solution for him.
Jhereg - Interesting, felt like a narrative more than just a story, like he really was reciting it to me along with personal observations. I don't buy the dragaerans though...ok, cool non-human (elf like) race, I can dig that, but apart from the appearance and lifespan, they were too human like. If they are going to be human,,,then be human, that's cool too. They didn't have the alien psychology they could have had. Still, I like the personalities involved, they were well developped.
Yendi - Didn't expect it to be a prequel.
I did like those last two though, even if I am being picky. The characters are well developped, they feel real (even if they felt human-like), and I like having politics and intrigue mixed into the action.

Date: 2006-07-29 05:00 am (UTC)The jar of basil tomato sauce in your fridge was enhanced with a fair bit of hot pepper flakes, plus onion & tomato; that, and the leftover spaghetti, date from Sun July 23. All other food in fridge is older.
See you soon if you pop by Kaleidoscope!
