I road-tested elizilla's intercom on the Concours today. The sound was quite good, even at highway speeds up to about 130 km/h (about 80 mph). The voice-activation needed a bit of tuning, but that is expected. The fitting of the speakers in the helmet needs work -- after a short while, the extra pressure on my ears became uncomfortable, but that should be fixable by sculpting the inside of the helmet a bit. I think the brand was Audiovox -- but if I'm wrong, I hope elizilla will correct me. :)

Date: 2006-07-17 05:22 am (UTC)The unit I have is the PRO-7, but it is discontinued. If I were shopping today I'd probably get the Active-Plus. It's basically the same feature set plus they now have separate volume controls for rider and passenger. (For many years, Autocom irritated their customers by saying "if you install your headset properly you don't need a volume control" but last year they finally caved to customer pressure and added it.)
