I dislike exercise equipment based exercise. I often enjoy doing things that involve exercise, and can even choose to do something at least partially because of the exercise benefit, but I just really don't like or have interest in exercise done purely for the sake of the exercise -- so working out on gym equipment almost never is a useful choice for me. If, at some point, I become dedicated enough to climbing that I feel the need for strength-building, it might happen, but I don't see that as likely.
