From the ball of cotton on the end of the wire that I was holding in my hand. Just experimenting, so far, though. Design, construction, how it works. Dousing. That sort of stuff.

Sounds like a good idea; but will it produce much smoke before you extinguish it?

The cotton has been dipped in rubbing alcohol, the alcohol is burning, not the cotton, and the alcohol burns with no smoke, or almost no smoke. If the cotton itself caught fire (not the intention), smoke might be an issue. This setup is burning with far less smoke than, say, a candle produces.
