Life goes on...
Apr. 19th, 2006 02:46 pmEmotional and relationship processing continues, but signs look pretty good.
Took advantage of the beautiful weather to ride the bike, and take leolac up to a vegetarian restaurant in Old Chelsea for dinner. We sat outside to eat, and had wonderful food, and greatly enjoyed the fresh air. Then, wound the bike up to way faster than was legal on the way back... (It might be said that the spedometer approached 200 km/h, though I admit nothing, and if that speed was indicated, it would probably be an actual speed closer to 185 km/h.) leolac likes speed, and I'm not one to deny such a thrill.
Called the LasikMD centre here in Ottawa about getting laser surgery. Made an appointment for the consultation tomorrow afternoon. If everything looks good, I'll probably book the appointment for my week off in May.
This evening, I'm having dinner with my parents which I haven't done in a while, since I've been out of town lately. Then Ipick horsetraveller up at the train station, since she'll be staying at my & leolac's place for a work conference on Thursday & Friday.
Thursday evening, I leave for Toronto (ETA 11pm), then on to Michigan for Penguicon, which I'm greatly looking forward to. After Penguicon, I stay in Michigan for the week, teaching at a customer site, then home by way of Toronto (where I'll be meeting leolac for the weekend) on Friday of next week. Monday after that I fly to Erie, PA for 3 days, then home again. I should be home for at least 3 weeks at that point. Yay for a bit of homeness.

Date: 2006-04-19 01:09 pm (UTC)I want to see, without glasses. I want to see the alarm clock by just looking at it from bed, rather than having to lean over close enough & squint. I want to see in the shower, while swimming, etc. I want to take my helmet on and off without having to fiddle with glasses, and drop them. I don't want to chase my glasses accross a dance floor if I dance too hard. I want to be able to snuggle my girlfriend's neck without having to worry about poking her in the eye or ear. So many things, big and small.

Date: 2006-04-19 01:35 pm (UTC)The following weekend, doing a lunch or dinner together, form con, would be a cool thing. If I remember the location of the Holiday Inn, there's a goodly number of eating places within not-too-far walking. leolac may be up for it, too, depending on whether or not she has gotten over-peopled.
