Recognizability

So, I'm at a local crag in Slocan, B.C. I mean, a little town, in the B.C. interior. Nobody has heard of it. And a group of young (early 20s, I'd say) climbers wander up to the crag/accumulate... and at least two of them recognize me.

I've gotten kind of used to being semi-local-climber-famous around Ottawa/Laurentians, but I'm not expecting it this far from home. It seems most of them are from, or have studied in, Ottawa, and had seem me at Montagne d'Argent.
