Splitting firewood.

So, I've got a bunch of un-split Manitoba Maple outback. I can do this solo, in full isolation. In fact, when swinging an axe, 2m is pretty well minimum distancing -- 5m is probably better. And it would get me outside, some exercise, and be productive.
Yet, I can't help thinking it might not be the best idea.

I mean. Solid footwear and take your phone with you. I can be there pretty fast.

I do have solid footwear. Might be tempted by the motorcycle leather pants, too.

At that point I'm gonna go ahead and say you just want a reason to wear leather pants. :-)

You know, I wouldn't've tagged you as the first of us to run amuck with an axe, but here we are.

An old military guy I know said that when you have to do this and help may not be accessible, work on your knees; that way, if you miss, the axe hits the ground before it hits you.

Hm... interesting thought. Hard to get a good swing, though, without the leverage through the legs. I'll keep it in mind.
