The hotel we were holding the training in -- I had for an address:

Eurotel <-
Le Fenouillet
Route de Carnon <-
34470 Perols

I figured out that 34470 is a postal code, and Perols is the town. Route de Carnon is, obviously, a street -- but there's no street address? Maybe it's a short street? Nope.

Turns out "Le Fenouillet" is an industrial area, and I should have used that for the Sat Nav system. Of course, once I get into that area, I just have to find the Eurotel. Gah.

Or, I'm trying to find a climbing gym... and I have:

climbing gym altissimo Montpellier Odysseum
zac port marianne
portes de la méditérrannée
odysseum pôle ludique
allée d’ulysse
34000 Montpellier

I'm hoping that "zac" is some soft of industrial zone (zone ...), and that will get me there. But, really, I don't know.

And, the other climbing gym that isn't too far away (though looks to be farther):

climbing gym altissimo montpellier - grabels
(commune de grabels)
rue de la treille
place de l'ancienne cave coopérative
34790 grabels

At least rue de la treille appears to be only about 4 blocks long.

Gah! How does anyone who hasn't lived somewhere all their life find anything? Or, is that the point?

Maybe that is the point, but it doesn't seem like a lucrative way of doing business.

Some of them actually sounds quite lovely, since I'm not looking for them;
'doors of the Mediterrannean' in particular. Does it make finding them an adventure? A good one, a fun one? Sadly it just seems frustrating for you. *hugs*

It was a bit frustrating when I was trying to get to where I was supposed to be working.

Otherwise, yes, they do sound kind of nice.

Interesting... I can imagine that on a 20-klick-long road, that would be rather frustrating.

At least you aren't in Japan... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_addressing_system

Gah! Yes. And, at least I can read the script, too.

The really scary part of that (to me as a former dispatcher) is the chronological numbering. Japanese business cards often seem to have little maps on the backs. In Japan, I discovered that using the train/subway stops as landmarks really does work. They are that densely sown.

Wow... yeah, that would be challenging.
