Good day of gaming chez con_girl

dagibbsAnd she and foms fed us dinner, too. Baked beans -- both vegetarian and not, fresh bread, and beef-barley soup/stew/sludge for those who didn't get enough beans.
ragnhildr, and I showed up close to one, and started with Ricochet Robots while waiting for donnav to show up. We stopped when she showed up, with most of us tied or close to it. At this point, we pulled out Maya, making two games in a row that I own but in which we weren't playing my copy. Donnav won Maya. As we were finishing Maya, buttongirl and ansfrid showed up (yes, gabriel_le, I have your crocs), and with 7 we decided to split into two groups. buttongirl wanted to play Power Grid, to solidify the rules in her head from the last playing, and I was happy to play that, foms was interested, and donnav joined us. foms and I ran in the lead for most of the game (not always a good thing with Power Grid), and I took it at the end. At the other table, they played Ticket To Ride (won by ragnhildr, who drew 42 points of compatible tickets on the starting draw), Hey That's My Fish (won by con_girl, to her apparent surprise) and Rumis (also won by con_girl, after ragnhildr apparently dropped several gifts in her lap). We finished with 3 games of Set with most of us participating to some degree (foms and ansfrid the least), I won 2, and ragnhildr tied me for the third.
Happily for me, my anti-cat medecine was effective, and I didn't suffer any nastiness, either.
